New Semester, New Art, New Everything

Art and Design, College

I’m currently in Asian Art and Culture, Relief Printmaking 1, and Graphic Design 2. I’m also in Intro to Mass Communications, to study some advertising. And of course I’m taking Britain at War, because if I have to learn about a society, wartime Britain seemed the most interesting option. It’s been a rollercoaster, these first few weeks. I can’t believe its nearing the end of September! Some of my classes are proving to be much more than I bargained for, especially the ones that only meet once a week.

One class I can’t complain about too much is Graphic Design 2. Love it! Our first project is to pick a cafe or club notorious in the 1930s, and make a matchbook design to advertise the place. I chose The Stork Club. Check out my two designs so far. Printed on cream and white paper. I like them, but the professor wants me to rework some of the font and add the address to the front flaps.
