A Quick History of Typography

Part of my job involves typography, the art of arranging letters for print or digital display. Unless you’re a design major or a history buff, you might not know how the first fonts came about, exactly why they were different from one another, or what they were used for. So I thought I would share this animated short that is fun and efficient in describing the history of printed typography. It took Ben Barrett-Forrest 291 paper letters, 2,454 photographs, and 140 hours of work to produce. Enjoy!
